Statement
Paint is seductive terrain.
I am obsessed with the physicality of paint. I am particularly interested in how paint as a three dimensional medium can function as a landscape in and of itself. The surfaces of my most recent paintings are up to an inch thick, with paint liberally applied like icing on a cake.
When juxtaposed in just the right way, colors are dynamic and poetic. I work with colors until they converse with one another. The more intricate the color combination, the more complex the discourse.
My paintings are assertions of my belief in the visual sufficiency of visual art. I am an aesthete. I make work that explores color, form and surface. I think in color. I feel in color. As a result, my paintings are raw and uncensored.
